CPR Awareness

The chance of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest is about 7% with no intervention.  CPR alone increases the percentage of survival to approximately 37%.  CPR together with early defibrillation increases this percentage to approximately 57%.  The Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) program recognizes the importance of CPR and defibrillation and in such has delivered training to approximately 550 individuals throughout Perth County.  Through free public events held in Stratford, Seabringville, Rostock, Kinkora, Moncton, Listowel, and St Pauls we have trained 150 citizens to perform CPR and utilize the AEDs.

For more information or how to get involved please contact the Emergency Services (ES) department on the Contact Us page.
