FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PERTH COUNTY, ON – The Significant Weather Event continues for Perth County. Persistent high winds and lake-effect snow squalls are forecasted to continue today into the evening and overnight hours. Throughout the County, high winds and blowing snow are causing significant drifting and near zero visibility at times.
While under the Significant Weather Event, County plows are continuing to provide winter maintenance, however under these conditions it may take longer than usual to clear the roads. At this time all Perth County roads are open and are being maintained.
Drivers are urged to use caution, allow plow operators space to work, and be aware of active snow removal operations. Crews are actively maintaining plow routes and will be clearing mainline before clearing outside rounds and shoulders. Crews will be cutting back snow banks in priority areas as resources and weather permits.
Road users are advised to continue to avoid all non-essential travel, and be aware of rapidly changing weather and road conditions.
