Below is a collection of training opportunities available to local businesses looking to learn more, develop tools for success, adapt business models, and/or offer services in a digital landscape. 

Tourism Café E-Courses  **NEW**

Perth County Tourism has partnered with The Tourism Café to offer all Perth County businesses FREE access to their collection of award-winning e-learning courses. Gain a competitive edge by equipping yourself with leading edge, short e-courses designed to help you get ahead. Courses range from 15 minutes to 2.5 hours and include topics such as Costing and Pricing Visitor Experiences, Identifying Your Ideal Guest, Testing Your Visitor Experience, Introduction to Sustainable/Regenerative Tourism, Policy Development, and more. 

 

To Register in the learning portal:

  1. Click HERE or visit: www.tourism-connects.com/perth-county-e-course-subscription
  2. Complete the registration form and click ‘Register’ at the bottom of the page.
  3. You will be redirected to a ‘Subscription Receipt’ page.
  4. To move past this page, click ‘Home’ on the left navigation menu.
  5. Bookmark the URL www.tourism-connects.com for future access.

 

To take an e-course using the promo code:

  1. Click ‘E-courses’ on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click on the course you want to take.
  3. Click ‘Buy Now’ in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  4. Enter the promo code PerthCounty into the ‘Promo Code’ box.
  5. Click ‘Apply’. The total will zero out.
  6. Click ‘Purchase Courses’.
  7. Click the green square to start the course.

Perth County Welcoming Communities Training

 Welcoming Communities Training Poster

We are excited to be able to offer this unique FREE training opportunity to Perth County employers. Together with our partners at Fanshawe's Corporate Training Solutions and Intercultural Competency Advantage Program, we look forward to ensuring the online learning experience is as easy to access and meaningful as possible. The goal of this training is to help our local businesses and service providers to become welcoming to all newcomers to the region.

Registration in the program includes 3 course modules, each taking between 90-120 minutes to complete:

  • The Essentials of Intercultural Competency
  • Effective Intercultural Communication
  • Power Dynamics and Systematic Discrimination

To request access for yourself and your team:

Send registration request email to ecdev@perthcounty.ca with the subject line “Online Training - Welcoming Communities” including the following:

  • Company Name
  • Number of Attendees/Licenses  you require
  • Names, position titles and email addresses of each participant

Please note that there are a limited number of training licenses available and priority will be given to employers located within Perth County.
