The Workforce Attraction and Retention Employer Toolkit (WARET) toolkit brings together practices for recruiting and retaining workers from across the country and provides easily accessible and implementable tools, templates, instructional guides and more to help employers choose the solution that works for them and their business.

As an online resource, the WARET toolkit can be accessed by any employer across Ontario through a simple registration process. Employers gain access to downloadable forms, templates and resources to easily implement best practices that have been tried and tested by other employers from a variety of sectors. This living toolkit will also serve as a repository for new and innovative retention and attraction techniques through opportunities to continue building and adding to the toolkit.

How to Navigate the WARET Toolkit

The WARET Toolkit is broken down into three sections: Housing, Recruiting, and Attraction and Retention. These sections offer comprehensive insights and practical case studies illustrating how organizations throughout Canada address each specified topic. They serve as valuable resources and potential models for structuring within your own organization. Please refer below to how a business may navigate and use the WARET portal.

How do I register and access the toolkit?

To register for the toolkit, click here or the button above titled, "Register to Access." To access the toolkit after you have registered, click here or the button above titled, "Launch Toolkit." 

What can I expect from the toolkit?

The toolkit is a comprehensive resource covering essential aspects such as housing, recruitment, and attraction and retention strategies. It not only offers valuable information but also presents real-world examples from successful businesses, serving as a source of inspiration and a practical guide for implementation. Additionally, the toolkit provides downloadable resources, empowering individuals to access practical tools and materials that can further enhance their understanding and implementation of the strategies outlined

What resources are available in the toolkit?

The toolkit will give you access to downloadable forms, templates and resources to easily implement best practices that have been tried and tested by other employers from a variety of sectors

What is the cost to sign-up for WARET?

Any employer can access WARET free of charge.

Are there any examples of what local businesses are doing in the toolkit?

Yes, WARET contains case studies of best practices from both local and national businesses. These case studies showcase the approaches these companies have implemented regarding the aspects of housing, recruitment, and attention and retention within their organizations.
