Discover More Flavour Farm Gate Map logo with produce stand

Get right to the source of Perth County’s local food culture! We are home to a variety of farm gate stores, self-serve stands, and seasonal pick-your-own experiences. Our digital and hard-copy Farm Gate Map will help you discover, locate, and experience all of Perth County's incredible agricultural offerings!

 What To Expect

While it is often a good idea to call ahead of your visit to ensure the farm gate you wish to visit is open, here’s an idea of what you can expect at different types of farm gates.

Farm Gate Stand: These informal farm gate stands operate on a self-serve, honour system. Pull up to the stand, pick up your items, and deposit money in the container provided. You may or may not see someone operating the stand.

Farm Gate Store: A more formal store located on a farm with posted operating hours. Note that hours may change seasonally.

Local Food Shop: Not located on a farm, but a location that sources and sells primarily local food sourced from Perth County farms.

Home Based Sales: Sales take place from a personal home on a farm. You may see a sign, but no stand directly at the farm gate.

 Know Before You Go
Keep these tips and tricks in mind before heading out on your next farm gate adventure!
  • Many farm gate operations do not offer sales on Sundays.
  • Bring cash! Some farm gate destinations are only able to accept cash as payment.
  • If you’re purchasing perishable items such as meat, cheese, or produce, bring a cooler along with you.
  • Dress for success! Wear comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for the terrain and weather conditions. Rubber boots may come in handy if there has been a recent rain.
  • For your own safety and in order to maintain biosecurity standards, visit only identified areas. You are visiting a working farm and business – some areas may be off limits.
  • Take your camera and make sure your phone is charged so you can capture and share your countryside memories!
