Roads and Bridges

Location: Perth South – Perth Line 32 to Sebringville

Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering. 

Timing: June – August 2026 

Impact: Rolling lane closures, Pilot Vehicle. The travelling public can expect lane reductions and delays during all construction phases. Short-duration closures.

Location: Perth East – Sebringville to previous construction limits north of Line 39

Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, partially paved shoulder, small diameter culvert lining, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering. 

Timing: June – August 2026

Location: Perth East – Perth Road 119 to Wilmot-Easthope Road

Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, partially paved shoulder, small diameter culvert lining, line painting, sign replacements, granular shouldering curb and gutter extensions in Amulree east. 

Timing: June – August 2026

Impact: Rolling lane closures, Pilot Vehicle. The travelling public can expect lane reductions and delays during all construction phases. Short- duration closures. 

Location: Perth Road 107 between Highway 8 and Perth Line 33

Construction Details: Removal and replacement of existing culvert crossing spanning the Shakespeare Municipal Drain.

Timing: TBD

Impact: Full road closure with detour for duration of the project. Approximately 4-weeks.

Perth Road 130 - Reconstruction

• Location: Perth South - Perth Line 20 to Sebringville
• Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, small diameter culvert replacements, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering. Rail Crossing improvements and drainage improvements within Avonton. 
• Timing: June – August 2025
• Impact: Rolling lane closures, Pilot Vehicle. The travelling public can expect lane reductions and delays during all construction phases. Short duration road closures with detour and local traffic only. 

Perth Road 140 - Road Rehabilitation and Roundabout Construction

• Location: North Perth - Perth Road 140 to Perth Line 93 and Intersection of Perth Road 140 and Perth Line 91
• Construction Details: Single Lane Roundabout Construction at Perth Road 140 and Perth Line 91. Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, small diameter culvert replacements, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering.
• Timing: May – September 2025
• Impact: The travelling public can expect lane reductions and delays during all phases of roundabout construction. Short durations road closures with detour. Rolling lane closures with pilot vehicle during road rehabilitation work.
• Other Notes: Shared project with Wellington County.

Perth Line 44 - Reconstruction

• Location: West Perth - Perth Road 180 to Road 160
• Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, small diameter culvert replacements, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering. Drainage improvement within Brodhagen.
• Timing: TBD 
• Impact: Rolling lane closures with pilot Vehicle. The travelling public can expect lane reductions and delays during all construction phases.

Perth Road 180 – Culvert Replacements

• Location: West Perth - Between Perth Line 55 and Line 53; and between Line 53 and Line 49
• Construction Details: Cold in-place road recycling and surface paving, small diameter culvert replacements, line painting, sign replacements and granular shouldering. Drainage improvement within Brodhagen. 
• Timing: TBD 
• Impact: Full road closure with detour for duration of the project. Approximately 9-weeks. 

Perth Road 130 – Culvert Structure 130130 Replacement

• Location: Perth Road 130 – Culvert Structure 130130 Replacement
• Construction Details: Removal and replacement of existing culvert crossing spanning the Bruce Coulthard Municipal Drain.
• Timing: September - October
• Impact: Full road closure with detour for duration of the project. Approximately 4-weeks. 
• Other Notes: Shared project with Huron County.

Perth Line 86 Resurfacing

• Location: Perth Road 131 (Tralee) to Tremaine Avenue (Listowel)
• Construction Details: Hot-mix asphalt surface paving, line painting & traffic markings, sign replacements and granular and hot-mix shouldering.
• Timing: June – September 2024

Perth Line 44 Reconstruction

• Location: Perth Road 131 (Tralee) to Tremaine Avenue (Listowel)
• Construction Details: Hot-mix asphalt surface paving, line painting & traffic markings, sign replacements and granular and hot-mix shouldering.

Perth County manages a winter maintenance program to ensure public safety on County Roads during the winter months from approximately November 1 to April 30^th. Refer to By-law 3282-2012. This includes staff and contractors working seven days a week, twenty hours a day as required.

Winter maintenance:

• Winter road patrol and 20-hour winter weather watch
• Snowplowing
• Sanding and salting operations on County roads when necessary, including pre-wetting of salt and sand

The 2019 Weight Restriction Season for ALL roads within the jurisdiction of the County of Perth will begin annually on March 1st through April 30th. 

The weight restriction is five (5) tonnes per axle, By-law 3411-2114.
