Planning FeesThe fee for planning applications is based on the type of application. The fees are established through by-law by the council of the County of Perth. They can be found in the chart below.
Additional Costs Additional costs may be incurred by the applicant depending on application type and complexity. Such costs may include but are not limited to supporting studies, public agency review, surveying, legal agreements or opinions, and peer review. The need for supporting materials or third party review are generally discussed with applicants at pre-consultation. The granting of certain approvals may be conditional and such conditions will possibly have costs associated with them which are the responsibility of the applicant. Any appeal of a decision may lead to legal fees being incurred by the County which will be paid by the applicant. Development Charges are fees that help pay for growth-related capital costs of infrastructure and services to new development including roads, water and sewer infrastructure, community centres emergency services and facilities. The County does not have a development charges by-law. The Township of Perth East, The Municipality of North Perth, and The Municipality of West Perth do have development charges by-laws.
